Training and carers: what other European projects do exist?
The CARESS project is looking at the professional training of home care staff – but there are some other European projects that look at the same issue from different angles. Which are these? We briefly present the TRACK, InformCare and ENS4Care projects
Training and Recognition of Informal Carer Skills (TRACK)
This Erasmus+ project aims at developing and testing a training programme for informal carers – family carers whose profession is not to take care of their family members, but who are providing this valuable service. The project created a baseline study on learning opportunities for informal carers, designed a training programme for them and tested it with informal carers in Germany, Spain and France. A feasibility study was established to see how the training could be certified by Vocational Education and Training in these countries. The project has just held its final conference in Brussels.
InformCare – Information hub for informal carers
This website was a result of the EU project ‘InnovAge’ under the EU’s former Seventh Framework Programme for research.
The website gives informal and professional carers from a large number of EU member states information about caregiving activities, useful tools, contacts, available benefits etc. in the national languages of these countries.
It also provides for interactive tools to communicate with other peers and exchange experiences.
ENS4Care: Evidence-based Guidelines for Nurses and Social Care Workers for the deployment of eHealth Services
The project looked at the development of eHealth services for nurses and social care workers and shared good practices in these areas.
It has created a set of guidelines on healthy lifestyles and prevention, early intervention in integrated care, skills development and ePrescribing.
